Very sorry to hear about Jay's passing. My husband Daniel and I bowled for years with him at Pop N Pin.

My sincerest condolences to LuDean and all of Jay's family.  He was a special friend through the years.  We all grew up together in Lewiston 3rd Ward, followed by many memories over the years.  The two of us worked for Jimmy Pond, spending long summer days together and sharing antics.  When I got home from my mission, I was involved in getting Jay to join the US Army Reserve - in fact I received a $10 recruiting bonus when he joined.  We then shared many hours riding to and participating in reserve meetings.  In later years, he was one I would look forward to seeing again at the park in Lewiston on July 4th on our annual visit from California.  He always had a smile on his face, in spite of the discomforts he experienced as he grew older.  I will miss him, but, like you, look forward to that reunion that awaits.

I met Jay a few times through his work at DFA.  Though we were little more than acquaintances, I was always impressed at what a good man he was.  He clearly took pride in his work, loved his family and liked to keep things simple.  He was an influence for good and am sad to hear he's gone.  My condolences and best wishes to his family.

Jay was a great guy.  And an awesome bowler.  Me and my husband, the late Richard Peterson, were bowling buddies with Jay. My sincere sympathy to his family at this difficult time.
