Zona Easthope Palmer

Our loving wife, mother, and grandma Zona Easthope Palmer returned home to her Heavenly Father on June 4, 2024 to be reunited with so many loved ones who preceded her in death.

She was born and raised in Ogden (Hooper), Utah July 18, 1951 to her parents Golden Thurgood Easthope and Zelda Verna Gailey.

Zona was a graduate of Roy High School, class of 1969. In high school she was involved with the Royalaires drill team.  Shortly after High School, she met and fell in love with Brady Dean Palmer. They were married civilly on April 9, 1971. Two years later, on July 26, 1973, they were sealed in the Logan Temple for time and all eternity. To see them together was to understand true love. They have endured unimaginable loss with grace and united faith. Together they have strived to make everything and everyone around them better. They served 3 missions together for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The people of Nigeria, Africa, Alamo, New Mexico, and the beautiful Cache Valley helped shape them as a couple. They served together in the Logan Temple where they increased their level of testimony. They unitedly raised a family where they applied the lessons learned through service.

Zona was the mother of 4 children: Scott Palmer (deceased), Michael (Julie) Palmer, Christy (Kiley) Dabb, and Darin (Carly) Palmer. As her children, we thank her for giving birth, for shaping our souls, for helping form our character, and for demonstrating to each of us the pure love of Christ throughout our lives. We thank her for the crucial role she played in fulfilling the purposes of eternity.

Her children would bless her with 21 grandchildren and what would have been 14 great-grandchildren by the end of this year. Her “babies”, as she lovingly called them, were her world, and she made every attempt to let them know it. She loved her role as a grandma and made it a point to ensure her “babies” knew, without a doubt, they were the most important people in her life.  Support, encouragement, council, and love were just a few of the attributes she shared with them. She would say it often, and I know they believe it, she truly does “love them bigger than the sky”.

Zona loved God and His son Jesus Christ. Her life was a personal ministry to not only speak of Them in word but to represent Them in action. She never missed an opportunity to testify of Christ and His sacred role in our lives. She exemplified His matchless love in the way she treated those around her. She built her foundation on Christ and His work. She was filled with hope, driven by her virtue, and was unselfish with her charity and love. She was willing to provide knowledge while still being patient with everyone in their progression. She was humble and never made anyone feel as though they were inferior. She was obedient and understood her role in our Heavenly Father’s plan of happiness. She believed in everyone’s right to improve and strived to let them know that with our Savior, they could.

She will always be remembered for her incredible ability to see the one and to ensure all within her sphere of influence knew their value. We won't forget her spunky, lively, loving, faithful, fierce, and beautiful balanced approach to life. We all love you Zona Easthope Palmer, and we look forward to your loving embrace and kind words when we meet again.

Zona is survived by her husband Brady Dean Palmer, her children Micheal (Julie) Palmer, Christy (Kiley) Dabb, and Darin (Carly) Palmer. She is preceded in death by her son Scott Palmer, sister Shana Compton and her parents.
