FAIRVIEW, IDAHO ZELMA TELFORDFAIRVIEW- Zelma Rawlins Telford, 91, returned to her Heavenly Father on Feb. 17, 2008, at the Franklin County Transitional Care Center in Preston, Idaho, due to causes incident to age. She was born July 2, 1916, in Lewiston, Utah, to Glen and Leila Wheeler Rawlins. Her father died when she was young and she was raised by her mother and her mother's second husband, Leo Pullum. She married her sweetheart, Ross Telford, on August 20, 1932in Logan, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Utah Temple. She lived in Lewiston, Preston, and the last fifty years in Fairview, Idaho.Her love and devotion to her family and friends and others was evident to all who were touched by her caring spirit. She will be remembered by all who knew her. Throughout her life, she has been an example of one with great patience and endurance. She worked hard all of her life, thinning beets, hoeing beets and helping her wonderful husband as he was working with heavy equipment. She was a wonderful cook and always had Christmas Eve dinner for all her family (which was numerous) for as many years as she could. Those associated with her enjoyed her sense of humor and found her fun to be around. She greatly encouraged and enriched many lives. Her son, Larry, lived with her the last three years and took great care of her. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was always a lady and always put others' needs above her own.Zelma is survived by her daughter, Joann (Max) Hansen of Preston; her son, Larry Telford of Fairview; eighteen grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross, by a son, Brooks, a daughter, Patty; sisters, Alta Rigby and Laura Dursteler, and by a her brother, Duke Rawlins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Fairview Second Ward Chapel with Bishop Marvin Sorensen conducting. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Lewiston Cemetery.
