William Louis Wolfley

William Louis Wolfley passed away on January 5, 2017, with his beloved wife by his side.William was born on January 7, 1971 in Preston, Idaho to Delwin and Kathleen Wolfley. He grew up globetrotting the world after his dad joined the army. Their first military base was Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs 74-77,  his dad was then transferred to Hanau West Germany 77-80. He then moved to Ft. Knox Kentucky 80-83 and back to Hanau 83-86 then back to Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs 86-88. In 1988 Delwin retired from the army and the family moved to Preston, idaho. It was here that William graduated from high school in 1989.

After graduating from high school William worked at Del Monte to earn money for an LDS mission. He turned in his papers and received a call to the Recife Brazil Mission. After only a few months in the field he got sick and had to return home. But that was okay because shortly after he returned home he went to the Local Carnival with his friend David Swann and met a girl who caught his attention. He and Janna spent the evening riding rides, and talking and thoroughly enjoyed each other's company. At the end of the evening Janna even let him give her a kiss and he was hooked.

On August 2nd 1991 William and Janna Christensen were married for eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. They were blessed with seven beautiful children Melissa, Jacob, Christian, Zachary, Joshua, Brittianna, Bryson.

William worked for the local grocery store Stokes Market from the first day it opened until he was too sick to be able to get to work. He loved working with the other employees there and he especially loved working with the public. He was very friendly and enjoyed visiting with and helping customers. He always had a smile and a kind word.

William was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many callings. He was nursery leader, primary teacher, Sunday school teacher, ward clerk, and in the Elders Quorum Presidency. But his favorite calling was working with the young men. He enjoyed working with the boys and participating in the scout activities. His four oldest boys got to attend at least one scout camp with their dad who attended scout camp as a leader for 8 years in a row. Some even got to participate in high adventures with him. He is very proud of all his children but was very proud that each of his boys that are old enough are Eagle Scouts.

In September of 2016 William started not feeling well and after three trips to the doctor and finally a trip to the Logan Regional Hospital ER on October 20th he was diagnosed with metastatic stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He started down the chemo path but didn’t get very far and complications from chemo and the tumors in his liver made him very sick. He fought valiantly but in the end was called home to our Heavenly Father.

He was met at passing by his mother Kathleen Larsen Wolfley and his sister Becky Newton. He is survived by his loving wife Janna Wolfley Preston, Id his children Melissa (Logan, Ut), Jacob (Lexie) Idaho Falls, Id, Christian Preston, Id, Zachary Minnesota Minneapolis LDS Mission, Joshua, Brittianna, Bryson.
