PRESTON, IDAHO VIVIAN BURKEPRESTON- Vivian Carter Burke, 94, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at the Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Logan, Utah. She was born Dec. 4, 1913, in Morgan, Utah, the daughter of Levi Alfred and Clara Porter Carter. She has now joined her loving husband, Kenneth Dell Burke, whom she was married to for sixty-two years. They farmed in Rupert, Idaho for thirty-two years and also in Gooding and Hagerman, Idaho. They had lived in Preston since 1990. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having served as Ward and Stake Relief Society president, Primary president, and a teacher. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and hooking rugs.She is survived by two daughters and one son, Jean (Doyle) McBride of Preston; Lorna Bennett of Smithfield, Utah; Steve (Carol) Burke of Elko, Nevada; twelve grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren, two great- great grandchildren, and one sister and two brothers, Alice Polomskey of Mesa, Arizona; Ralph Carter of Morgan, Utah, and Walter Carter of Seattle, Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, and siblings, Virginia Boer, Charlie Carter, Marian Fisher, Greta Jensen, Bessie Durrant, and Samuel Carter.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston. Friends may call Saturday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.webbmortuary.com
