It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Todd David Johnson, 57. He passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at his home from causes due to heart and kidney failure. He was born on 04/04/1968 in Pocatello, Idaho. He was the oldest of three boys of David Merrell Johnson and Gloria Lee Johnson. He was a graduate of Preston High School and went on to serve a mission in Coventry England for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Todd spent almost three decades as a standup comedian making people laugh, lighting up comedy clubs, theaters, and events across the United States. Whether performing in front of a packed house or sharing a quiet moment with a friend, Todd's unmatched storytelling ability, infectious humor, and kindness touched everyone he met. He shared the stage with names like Bill Engvall, Robin Williams, Dana Carvey, Weird Al Yankovik, Tommy Chong, Paul Rodriguez, Dane Cook, Daniel Tosh, Kevin Nealon, Chad Prather, and the Country Bands like Lone Star, Sawyer Brown, Billy Dean, and Ned Ledoux. Todd also entertained the Troops, performed for the March of Dimes, and Make a Wish.
Offstage, Todd was known as a warm, generous, and compassionate soul, offering support, encouragement, and friendship to anyone who needed it. He was a constant source of positivity and laughter in the lives of countless people, building lasting friendships with fellow comedians, fans, and anyone lucky enough to be in his circle. Whether it was helping a struggling comic with advice or simply sharing a laugh after a tough day, Todd was always there. Many who met Todd speak of his warmth, humility, and ability to make others feel like the most important person in the room. Todd leaves behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and unforgettable moments that will continue to bring joy to those who had the privilege of knowing him.
But most of all, Todd was a devoted and adoring Uncle. He cherished his nieces and nephews, whom he loved with all his heart. They were his greatest joy, and he spoke with them and of them constantly, proud of who they are and thrilled to be a part of their lives. Todd's family was everything to him and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, fellow comedians, and fans across the country who all felt like they had a special connection with Todd.
We are deeply saddend that Todd is no longer with us, but we know he is in a better place and we will see him again. He is so happy to be with his Mom, nephew, and all the loved ones who have passed on before him.
Rest in peace, Todd. You made the world a happier and better place.
