Thomas Arnold Walker

Thomas Arnold Walker, 75, passed away on March 25, 2024. He was born September 8, 1948. Son of Clarence Arnold Walker and Envieler Walker of Lakeland Florida and brother to Rebecca Kranek of Preston Idaho.

Thomas resided for most of his life in Lakeland Florida. After being in a care facility in Lakeland, he took a train to Preston Idaho that took 3 days to get there. He came to Preston to be close to his sister, Rebecca Kranek. Where he lived in the Heritage Home for 6 years. With advancing Parkinson’s, it required him to live in Assisted Living at the TCU at Franklin County Medical Center where he lived there 3 years before being called home.

In his later high school years, Thomas joined the Merchant Marines during Vietnam. He sailed the world, saying, he sailed from San Francisco to De Nang Vietnam to Japan and back to San Francisco.

 He took a ship through the Panama Canal two times.

After the Marines he worked as a TV repairman

His father had an auto repair shop where he worked in auto parts and also learned to work on and fix automobiles.

Tom was a very smart man. He loved to play checkers where he won 450 times, tied once and lost once.

Another game Tom loved to play was Name that Capitol, nobody knew the capitols like Tom did.

Tom loved sports, his favorite team was Detroit Tigers Baseball

Tom was a professional Ball Room Dancer, his favorite dance was the Polka. He would say, you have to hold the ladies tight, because when you spin them, they will go flying off if you don’t have a good hold on them.

We would like to thank all the health care workers from the Heritage Home and the TCU at FCMC for all the love, care and kindness you gave to Tom. For keeping him comfortable and attending to his needs. Your work did not go unnoticed you all are angels in disguise, thank you for taking good care of our dear friend.

Tom filled many hearts with his love, and we all are going to miss him.

Memorial services will be held Monday, April 1, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Franklin County Nursing Home, 44 North 100 East Preston, Idaho 83263. Memories and condolences may be shared at webbmortuary.com
