Terry Wayne Traynor, 67, passed away on March 3, 2026, at the Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho due to injuries sustained in an accident. He was born April 2, 1958, in San Diego, California, where his father was serving in the Navy, the son of John Charles and Ladawn "Jackie" Coburn Traynor and grandson of Glen and Amy Coburn, and Fred and Charlotte (Ronan) Traynor.
Terry passed the GED High School equivalency at the age of 17 and later added two years of college with emphasis in journalism. He enlisted in the United States Army where he became a paratrooper and jumped with both the 82nd Airborne Corp and XVIII Airborne Corp. He was an OTR truck driver and Driver Trainer and also worked in steel fabrication, managing a plant in Caldwell, Idaho. He was an artist and enjoyed painting and different forms of art. He was a published poet and an amateur actor in a number of plays and productions. Terry also served in the American Legion as a Service Officer until returning home to Preston, Idaho. He loved to go fishing and camping. He enjoyed motorcycles and was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan. He was an RNA (Registered Nurse Assistant) and enjoyed serving and helping others.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed his friendships with his fellow Preston 3rd Ward friends and neighbors. He was a “friend to all” and had many good friends. He had a deep love and bond with his parents, his home in Preston, and the Preston community. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his father, John Traynor, of Preston; and by two cousins, Debbie (Ted) Delezene of Pocatello, Idaho and Bob Day & Karen NIce-Day of Pocatello, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ladawn Traynor.
Graveside dedicatory services, military rights and interment will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. in the Preston Idaho Cemetery. There will be a visitation held Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortuary.com
