Stanford Albert Thomas

Stanford Thomas, 84, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2024, at The Heritage House in Preston, Idaho. He was born on October 3, 1939, in Nevada City, California, the son of John and Inez Thomas. Dad loved golf and would be out on the course whenever he could. He moved to California to continue his work in the sheet metal industry where he met and fell in love with Carolyn Lawson. They were married March 24, 1984, and later sealed their marriage in the Medford Oregon Temple on September 14, 2002. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in California where he served as the leader from 1986-1987. He loved the Moose Lodge and all they stood for. He finally moved back to Utah after his beloved wife passed away in 2015. He enjoyed living by his brother until he passed away in 2020. He then moved to Preston Idaho to be closer to his sister, Saundra. She took super good care of him; she turned a storage building she had into an apartment for him, so he was close by her. When she passed away, we had dad go to the Heritage Home there in Preston so he could be close by family and many others that he got to know there. He was able to still enjoy riding his bike that he and Saundra got together. He would ride it around the town for hours and make his way down to the store to buy himself snacks to enjoy. 

Stan is survived by eight children, 22 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Stan is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Jolene and Saundra and brother John.

The family would like to thank the Heritage Senior Living Center for their wonderful care of our dad. We also want to thank Hands of Hope Hospice for making dads last months here comfortable for him. You guys are wonderful and took such good care of him.  

Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Noon at Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th St., Ogden, Utah.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortuary.com
