Sheldon Kemp Beutler passed away March 16, 2026. He was born on November 20, 1944, in Logan, Utah. He grew up in Dayton, Idaho, and attended West Side High School, where he met the love of his life, Patsy Greene. The two first met in study hall at West Side—Sheldon was a senior and Patsy a sophomore. Their friendship quickly grew into a lifelong partnership, and they were married on September 16, 1966, in the Logan LDS temple.
Following high school, Sheldon continued his education at Weber State and Utah State University, where he earned an associate’s degree in Automotive Engineering. He had a natural mechanical ability and a deep understanding of how things worked. Sheldon was known as someone who could fix just about anything that was broken, a skill that served his family, friends, and neighbors well throughout his life.
When his father was injured and could no longer farm, Sheldon stepped in to take over the family farm. With dedication and hard work, he carried on the family tradition. Farming not only reflected his strong work ethic but also allowed him to spend meaningful time with his family.
Sheldon and Patsy built a life centered on family. Together they raised five children: Doug who preceded him in death (Tonya), Hurricane, UT; Todd (Twila), Thatcher, UT; Mike (Mandy), Dayton, ID; Katie (Brett), Dayton, ID; and Kerry (Joylyn), Idaho Falls, ID. He instilled in them the values of hard work, responsibility, and helping others. His steady presence, practical skills, and willingness to lend a hand earned him many friends and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Sheldon will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his ability to solve any problem that came his way, and his deep devotion to his family and friends.
