Sharon Choules Wilkinson

Sharon Choules Wilkinson, 80, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, returned to her Heavenly Father on May 9, 2025.

Sharon was born November 15, 1944, in Preston, Idaho to Richard Clark Choules and Radia Morrison Choules. She was the eldest of four daughters. Her formative years on the Riverdale, Idaho family farm instilled in her the values of hard work, family unity, and service that would guide her throughout her life.

At age 14, Sharon faced the profound loss of her father. Following his passing, her mother worked to support the family while Sharon stepped into the role of serving as a second mother to her younger sisters, demonstrating the nurturing spirit that would define her relationships throughout her life.

A graduate of Preston High School, Sharon's love story began in 1961 in a World History class, when Robert Wilkinson (Bob) caught her eye. After asking Bob to a girl's choice dance, they became inseparable. Their courtship continued long distance through letters and care packages while Bob attended the Denver Institute of Technology.

On January 31, 1964, Bob and Sharon were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Utah Temple, beginning their 61-year married journey together.

Sharon would accompany Bob across the United States while he worked for AT&T. That career took their family to Salt Lake City, Utah; Bountiful, Utah; Concord, California; Annandale, New Jersey; Upland, California; and Tracy, California. Bob and Sharon finally returned to their Idaho roots when they built their family homestead in Franklin, Idaho in 2001. Through each move, Sharon created a loving home and formed enduring friendships while serving faithfully in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Sharon's talents were many. She was an accomplished pianist and organist, a gifted cook, and a skilled artist whose handiwork adorned her home and the homes of those she loved. She cross-stitched pictures, crocheted afghans for grandchildren, and in recent years, lovingly crafted quilts for family members - tangible expressions of her abiding love.

As a devoted life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sharon served in many capacities including Primary, Young Women, Relief Society, and ward organist. Sharon and Bob served together at the Bishop's Storehouse in northern California; at the Family History Center in Logan, Utah and Preston, Idaho; and as temple ordinance workers in the Oakland California and Logan Utah temples. Additionally, Sharon supported Bob faithfully during his service as bishop in the Tracy, California 2nd Ward.

Sharon is survived by her eternal companion, Robert Wilkinson; her children Janeal Miller (Jonathon) of Rigby, Idaho; Kristine Sonnefeld (Fredrick) of Alexandria, Virginia; Bryan Robert Wilkinson (Tara) of Riverton, Utah; her sisters Jeanette Bandy (Bob, deceased) of Wilbur, Washington; Nancy Harris (Mike) of Henderson, Nevada; MerRee Stone (Steven) of Riverdale, Idaho; her brother Richard Lin Bell (Shelly) of Hooper, Utah; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Clark Choules and Radia Morrison Choules Bell.
