Sandra Murray Reed

On May 6, 2024, our sweet angel wife, mother, sister and grandmother Sandra Murray Reed passed peacefully from this life surrounded by her adoring and devoted husband and family members.

Sandy was born April 7, 1948, in Logan, Utah to Boyd D. and Martha Clair Murray.  She was the 3rd of 5 children.  Her early years were spent in Lewiston where she attended Lewiston Elementary.  While living in Cache Valley, Sandy developed a very close relationship with both sets of her grandparents-Amussen and Murray, as well as many cousins.

While Sandy was still in elementary school, the family moved to Bountiful. There she attended Stoker Elementary and later Bountiful Jr. and Sr. High Schools where she enjoyed being a banner carrier. Sandy married her high school sweetheart, Rick J. Reed on Sept. 3, 1966.  They spent 57 ½ wonderful years together, madly in love and deeply devoted to each other. Rick and Sandy spent the majority of their married life in Hyde Park where they raised their 7 children.  Sandy was a wonderful mother who taught her children by example and instilled in them a love of the gospel and faith in Jesus Christ.

Sandy selflessly served in various capacities in the church, but her favorite callings were in the Primary with the children.  She loved the Primary songs. They became her music of choice throughout her life.  Her family and friends will remember with fondness her love and connection with children, her nonjudgment of others, her selfless acts, her childlike love of candy and treats, "Sandy-isms" and much more. Sandy has often been described by many as "an angel on earth."  She will truly be missed.

Sandy is survived by her spouse, Rick; their children Troy (Wendy), Shane (Carol), Alecia Cardon (Larry), Trishelle Fletcher (Terrell), Tyler (Kenia Ann), Camille Wilcock (Jason) and Jake (Natalie), 22 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her grand-daughter Madalyn Fletcher and brother Robert Murray.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Dr. Bruce Isaacson's office for their loving care of Sandy over the past 12 years.  Thank you to hospice nurses Bekah and Kevin for the gentleness they showed when caring for her.
