Ruth Bybee Christensen

FAIRVIEW, IDAHO - - RUTH CHRISTENSEN

Mary Ruth Bybee Christensen, 78, died February 17, 2009 at McKay Dee
Hospital, Ogden, Utah of complications from a heart attack. Ruth was
born September 1, 1930 at Uintah, Utah. She was the youngest of ten
children born to Joseph Orin Bybee and May Lawson Grix. She married
Leonard Junior Christensen on October 13, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS
Temple. She and Leonard lived in Hooper, Utah until they moved to
Fairview, Idaho in 1959 to operate their dairy farm.

Ruth and Leonard enjoyed life on the farm, and together they raised
their six children and taught them the value of work, which is a
legacy that is now being passed to future generations. In addition to
raising their family, Ruth and Leonard hosted exchange students and
two Indian Placement children, Donald Comes and Joy DeDios.
Together, Ruth and Leonard traveled the globe, enjoying various trips
and making new friends. Leonard preceded Ruth in death, passing away
on December 17, 2002, and they have now been reunited.

Ruth was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, taught 4-H, and
served in various positions in her church. Ruth was a member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a firm testimony
of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She emulated the Savior in her sincere
and genuine concern for her extended family and those around her. She
demonstrated her interest in others through many acts of service and
by asking about important events in their lives. Her loving influence
will be greatly missed.

Ruth is survived by her six children: Cheryl (Mark) Moosman, Burley,
Idaho; Scott (Syndee) Christensen, Fairview, Idaho; Garth (Jan)
Christensen, Fairview, Idaho; Janeil (Al) Tremayne, Clarkston, Utah;
Marilee (Kevin) Balls, Payson, Utah; and Nancy (Robert) Funk,
Smithfield, Utah. She is also survived by 41 grandchildren and 45
great-grandchildren. Ruth is also survived by three sisters, Ina
Malan, Lois Anderson, and Rosalie Garner; and two brothers, Grant
Bybee and Reid Bybee. She was preceded in death by her parents, her
husband, and four brothers, Joe Bybee, Bob Bybee, Wayne Bybee and
Jesse Bybee.
