Ruby LaVee Burtson

Ruby LaVee Turnbow Burtson, 81, passed away peacefully at home on March 9,2017. 

 

She was born January 20,1936 in Ogden, Utah to Alden and LaVee Turnbow. She was the oldest of five siblings who she served and loved dearly. 

 

Ruby resided in Utah until the age of 18 and then moved to California to raise her young family, She loved the beach, bowling with her friends, and met the love of her life Bill Burtson while living there. They moved to Weston, Idaho in the early nineties where she and Bill operated -Bills Weston Market- for over 20 years. She was a life long member of the LDS church and served in the Relief Society in many capacities. 

 

Ruby was our "Precious Gem" who's sparkle will always shine in our lives. She was a perfect example of pure hearted service and unconditional love. 

 

She is survived by her loving, devoted husband Major William Burtson, USMC Ret. of 38 years. Her children: Rick of Salt lake City, Utah; Robert (Kathy) Bountiful, Utah; Kelly (Tom) Phoenix, Arizona; Susan (Scott) South Jordan, Utah. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren whom she loved and adored. 

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Weston First Ward Chapel, 27 N. Center, Weston, Idaho.  Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho and Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment will be in the Weston Cemetery.
