Robert "Bob" Craig Phillips

Robert "Bob" Craig Phillips, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend took his final walk on Friday, August 21, 2026 at the age of 82. He was born on April 23, 1944, in Preston, Idaho to Douglas James and Cora Pratt Griffeth Phillips.

In 2005, Bob married Lorraine “Rainie” Rice. They were high school classmates, and it was a surprise to both of them when they met over 40 years later and began a new life together. They did everything together, like cutting sagebrush and planting game habitat under the NRCS program. They both loved raising beef cattle, taking them to the range in the summer and bringing them home in the fall to have their calves and feed and care for them in the winter months. Their favorite trips were anywhere there were cattle to see, hay bales, crops of every kind, and farmers working the land.

Bob had so many friends and he treated each one as though they were the best friend of all. He loved to help others, teaching what he knew, mentoring, and bonding.

During his last days, it was as though he wrote the script for the final chapter of his life. He let go of all that was in his past, opened himself to love and light, and received all the gifts his heart desired. He was totally at peace after accomplishing in a few short days what he hadn’t been able to do in a lifetime. It was a privilege and a joy to all those around him to witness his transformation.

Bob had many talents and skills, such as heavy equipment operator, welder, restoring antique tractors, crossword puzzles, and could identify any weed or plant around. He used all his talents and skills to do what he most loved. Of all his talents though, he loved being called a farmer and was very proud of it.

Bob is survived by his wife, Rainie; five brothers, Clynn, Kevin, Galen, Dallin, and Rick; his children, Jeff (Debbie) Phillips, Cheray (Bob) Weller, and Regan (Sharie) Phillips; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doug and Cora Phillips; sister Myrna; and brothers, Clair and Wayne.

A special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Beckstead and his staff, and to the many, many nurses and staff at FCMC who took care of Bob off and on over the years. He loved and appreciated each one of you.

For Bob’s final farewell, family and friends are invited to join us this Friday, August 28th from 10:30 to 11:30 at the Moyle Community Center at 175 West Center in Clifton to share stories, memories, and hugs.

Then for those who would like to join us, we will travel to the cemetery in Clifton just prior to 12:00 p.m. for a graveside service.  Bob will lead the way behind his favorite tractor, a John Deere 430. Members of the CVMA Tractor Club will follow behind in some of their tractors as we take Bob to be laid to rest surrounded by family and friends.

The family will then gather back at the Moyle Community Center for lunch at approximately 1:00 p.m.

Thank you again everyone for being a part of Bob’s life. Rainie says, “Farewell dear one, until we meet again”.
