Robb Lee Johnson, known by many as “Cowboy,” passed away far too soon at the age of 54 on September 20, 2025. He died in an accident while heading westbound on I-80 near Carlin, Nevada.
Born on November 20, 1970, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, to Carl and Barbara Johnson, Robb was the oldest of six children. He grew up with a deep love for the outdoors, adventure, and connecting with people. He had a big heart, a quick wit, and a laugh that filled the room. He was the life of the party, always cracking jokes, sharing stories, and never missing a chance to bust out his dance moves.
Robb loved to dance. He grew up doing clogging and ballroom, which gave him the chance to dance alongside his siblings, introduced him to many of his closest friends, and gave him the opportunity to travel the world, including to Japan, Hawaii, and Missouri. He was adventurous and always open to trying new things. Robb found a passion for framing houses; a craft that came naturally to him. He was quick, precise, and sharp with numbers, a talent that became a creative outlet he truly loved. He lived a full and spirited life, spending his time hunting, fishing, riding horses, and playing soccer.
Robb was a father who loved his children in his own way. He was someone his children could turn to with honesty, knowing they would be met with love and without judgment. He loved deeply and supported them unconditionally, encouraging them to follow their dreams and always reminding them they were loved no matter what.
Robb will be deeply missed by his parents, Carl and Barbara Johnson; his children: Jaden (Ty) Johnson, Logan Johnson, and Lexie (Ethan) Pitcher; and his two beloved granddaughters, Rawli and Quincy. He also leaves behind his siblings, nieces and nephews, extended family, and many dear friends who will always carry his memory with them.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Preston 3rd Ward Chapel, 155 N. 200 W. Preston, Idaho. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Interment will be in the Franklin Idaho Cemetery. In honor of his spirit and style, please wear your finest cowboy attire.
“When I die, remember that what you knew of me is with you always. What is buried is only the shell of what was. Do not regret the shell but remember the man. Remember the father.” – Louis L’Amour
