Reo Morris Newbold Jr.

Reo Morris Newbold Jr., 84, was with a lifelong and dear friend when he passed away May 25, 2025, at the Franklin County Medical Center in Preston, Idaho. He now reunites with his love, Ruth Elaine Newbold. He was born Oct. 18, 1942, in Riverdale, Idaho.

He was a quiet, kind, and simple soul. He was a well-known locksmith and mechanic. He loved gardening, playing with trinket toys, and helping those in a crisis. He enjoyed serving in the Logan Temple and will always be knows as Preston’s Ice Cream Man.

He is survived by one daughter, two sons, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three brothers, two sisters and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents (Reo Morris Newbold Sr. and Blanche Elsie Sharp), by his eternal companion, Ruth, and by one brother, Claire Newbold.

Military rites and graveside dedication will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. in the Whitney Idaho Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 E., Preston, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help with burial costs by contacting Webb Funeral Home at (208) 852-0533. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortuary.com
