PRESTON, IDAHO - - RANDY SMITH
PRESTON- Randell (Randy) Rulon Smith, 65, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at his home in Preston. He was born August 18, 1943, in Hyde Park, Utah, the son of Rulon and Rhelda Perkes Smith.
He married Janice Young on March 27, 1970, in Logan, Utah. They had three children: Jeffrey Randell (Hollee) Smith of Hyrum, Utah; Angela Penny (Clint) Dunkley of Preston; Amy Lyn Smith of Franklin , Idaho. After 26 years, they parted ways. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Gavin Dunkley, Tayvin Dunkley, and Colin Smith; three b rothers, Mervin (Connie) Smith of Preston; Jay (Grace) Smith of Hyrum, Utah; and Clinton (Yvonne) Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Gayla McClure and Marva Maughan.
He served his country in the Air Force during the Viet Nam War. Randy worked as a farmer, mechanic and all-around handyman for Bosen Livestock for nearly 40 years enjoying every minute of it. His hobbies included bowling, snowmobiling, woodworking, and he was an avid Utah Jazz fan. He look forward to Dutch Oven Cookouts at Stockton Reservoir.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at noon in the Preston South Stake Center, 55 E. 1st S., Preston. Friends may call Friday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the stake center. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
