Orthea Cox Moser, age 92, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, in Preston, Idaho, returning home and reuniting with her sweetheart Jack.

Orthea was born on June 15, 1933, to Orson and Althea Cox. Being raised on a farm in Oxford, Idaho, she learned the value of hard work.

While attending West Side High School, she met Jack Moser and they became high school sweethearts. After graduating they were married in the Logan Temple.

Together Orthea and Jack raised their 5 children while farming in Dayton, Idaho. She dedicated her time to motherhood, homemaking and helping on the farm. She was an outstanding cook and candy maker. Her children were always so excited to get home from school to see what she had made for them to eat. She would also pack an awesome lunch for Jack and her sons to take hunting. Her family never went hungry. She loved camping with her family and friends and going on trips with Jack.

She has always been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in many organizations and callings. She has served the community for 10 years on West Side’s school board and 10 years on Dayton’s City Council.

She had a deep love for music, teaching students, writing Christmas cantatas, writing and creating her high school song. Another love she had was of Genealogy work. She found countless ancestors throughout her years, gathering their life histories. She also helped write and gather family stories to compile several town history books.

Orthea had a special talent for crocheting. She has made numerous beautiful afghan’s for adults and babies for family members.

Orthea is survived by her children; Kevin (Judy), Courtney (Kelly), Sherrie (Kyle), Troy (Celeste) and Stacy (Deon). She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
