Nyala "Sam" Maldeney

Susan Gale once said "Sometimes quiet people really do have a lot to say  ... they're just being careful about who they open up to". Sam was a very quiet,  private person,  but underneath that quiet facade, was an intelligent and fiercely independent woman.  She had a kind heart and a fondness for animals that  inspired her to spend a good part of her life caring for the animals that everyone else had forgotten.   She was an active member of the LDS church and especially enjoyed teaching in the Primary. When her daughters were in college, she spent a good deal of time praying that they would find good husbands, and they did. So, thanks Mom!  On May 19, 2018, Mom left this world, at the age of 72, to be with her Heavenly Father. She was surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer. She fought like a true hero,  but in the end,  Heavenly Father's need was greater than ours, and she was called home.  Indeed, there has surely been a beautiful reunion with  her mother Molly Crane and her father Basil Crane who preceded her in death.  Surviving are her two children Jackie (Jeff) Davis of Herriman, Ut and Tanya (Brad) Quayle of Perry, UT as well as seven grandchildren who she truly adored. She is also survived by two brothers (Sidney and Morris Crane) and one sister (Sandra Crane).  Graveside services will be held at the Mink Creek Cemetery at 11:00 AM on Friday,  May 25, 2018.  Funeral services will be  preceded by a viewing at 9:30 AM  at the Mink Creek church house.  Condolences can be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com.
