Preston, IdahoNormanH. Carlson Preston - Norman Harten Carlson, 86, passed away at his home on Sunday, May 25, 2008. He was born July 9, 1921 in Preston, Idaho the son of Victor Augustus and Georgina Harten Carlson. Norman married Dorothy Frank on September 3, 1941. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah Temple. Norman loved life and enjoyed boating, camping and the outdoors with his family and friends. His profession was in the construction industry as a plasterer, mason carpenter, and painter which he took much pride in his work. He was also a master craftsman and enjoyed building wood furniture. He served in the U.S. Army and was a World War II Veteran and also a member of the Preston Elks Club. He was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his daughter Dee Ann (R.B.) Nelson of Preston, ID; a son Norman Terry (Donna) Carlson, of Sandy, UT; and a sister Roma (Lael) Bowman, of Washington, UT; seven grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his parents, three brothers Roland, Glen, and Billy, and two sisters Myrtle Woodward and Dorothy Christensen. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 12:00 noon in the Whitney 2nd Ward Chapel with Bishop Brandon Stephenson conducting. Friends may call Thursday from 10-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Webb Funeral Home in Preston.
