Neale Stone Walton

Neale Stone Walton, 83, passed away on 18 October 2024 at his home in Thatcher, Idaho, from causes incident to age. He was born at home on Sept 23, 1941 in Cub River, Idaho, the son of Geneale Coombs and Alfred Walton. He married Rhea Weeks in 1959, they had 6 children, later divorced. He grew up in Cub River where he loved exploring the hills with his cousins. He later moved to Thatcher with his mother and stepfather Ruben Coombs.

Dad was a man of few words but was always ready to help anyone who needed it, including family, friends, and neighbors. He was one of those men who could fix just about anything. He was the hardest working man we knew, working may years in the trades and as a welder at Crane Supply, Boman & Kemp Steel, and at Jetway where he supervised the building of walkways at airports around the world.

He built his cabin in Thatcher all by himself and loved the quiet solitude of the mountains. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, and anything that got him out in the fresh mountain air. It was small but very cozy, and we all loved our family gatherings there.

Neale is survived by his life partner of many years, Ursula Rogoszewski. He is also survived by his children: Melanie (Denny) Wirick, Mariott-Slaterville City Utah; Jeanine, Layton Utah; Derek (Lisa), West Haven Utah; Natalie (Jayson) Kelker, Syracuse Utah; Ashley (Theresa), Ogden Utah. He had 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Damon, his parents, his brother Curtis Coombs, and many family and friends who we know have welcomed him home with open arms.

We would like to thank all of those who have helped dad the last few years when his health wouldn’t allow him to do everything that he wanted. He loved helping others but hated needing help himself, and we truly appreciate all who quietly stepped in and helped anyway. Special thanks to Ursula for loving dad and taking such good care of him.
