MAXINE S. HAMPTONFRANKLIN- Maxine Seamons Hampton, 96, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at the Franklin County Medical Center in Preston, Idaho. She was born July 9, 1911, in Preston, Idaho, the daughter of Wilford Royce and Effie Mono Paton Seamons. She grew up in Preston attending the Central and Jefferson schools. She graduated from the Oneida Stake Academy in 1929. In the summer of 1929, Maxine met and began a courtship with Alma Biggs Hampton which resulted in their marriage in the Logan Temple on Aug. 6, 1930.Maxine and Alma made their home in Franklin where she continued to live until her death. She served in various ward and stake callings throughout her life. Her favorite was Primary and Jr. Sunday School where she served for over 65 years. She was a captain in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.She was employed at Johnson Drug Store for 28 years. She enjoyed her association with those she worked with and the public she served. She always enjoyed being home and spending time with her family, especially the grandkids. She was an excellent cook and made many apple pies which she shared with friends and neighbors. Charity has always been the keystone of her life which she lived to the fullest extent.She is survived by a son, Alan D. (Fae) Hampton of Preston, Idaho; a daughter, Dorene H. (Michael A.) Jenson of Millville, Utah; seven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, two sisters, Joyce Geary of Ogden, Utah; and Leatrice (Chet) Buttars of Logan, Utah; a half-sister, Verdena (Dayle) Dunkley of LaVerne, California; and two half-brothers, Ronald (Betty) Seamons of Honeyville, Utah; and Blaine (Justine) Seamons of N. Ogden, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, by two grandchildren, two brothers, and one sister.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, in the Franklin Stake Center with Bishop Chad Womack conducting. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the stake center. Burial will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
