Martha "Marty" Ransbottom Hansen

Martha “Marty” Ransbottom Hansen, our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away on March 14, 2022, at her home in Smithfield, Utah at the age of 91.  She was born May 15, 1930, in Whitney, Idaho, to James Raymond and Freda Wickham Ransbottom.  She was the youngest of four children.

Marty married Gilbert W. Hansen on October 10, 1949, and they were later sealed in the Logan Temple.  Gilbert died in August of 2016 after 67 years of marriage together.  Their deep and abiding love for each other will forever remain timeless.

She is survived by her son, David (Susan- deceased), daughters, Janalee (John) and Jerilyn (Craig) and by her granddaughter, Melissa.  She also leaves behind her precious Millie, who faithfully laid by her side until her very last day.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gilbert; her infant daughter, her daughter-in-law, Susan; by two sisters, Adele Jensen and Helen Packer; by a brother, Ray Ransbottom and by a multitude of cherished four-legged companions.

To respect our mother’s wishes, there will be no public viewing or funeral service.  Those wanting to honor her life and memory are invited to donate to the Cache Humane Society, plant a tree, or hang a bird feeder at your home.  Private family services will be held.  Burial will be in the Whitney, Idaho Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortuary.com

I am a peace, my soul at rest.  There is no need for tears for with your love I was so blessed for all those many years.”
