Lyle Bartlett Nash

Franklin, IdahoLyle B. NashFranklin - Lyle Bartlett Nash, 82, passed away May 8, 2008 in Preston, Idaho at the Franklin County Medical Center. He was born June 15, 1925 in Franklin, Idaho to Bartlett Martin and Myrtle Day Nash. He married U-Vonna Winward on April 9, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple.Lyle was born, raised, and lived in Franklin, Idaho. He served his country during World War II traveling the world while serving in the Merchant Marines. He was proud of his service in the armed forces. Lyle was a hard worker and provided well for his family. Lyle and U-Vonna moved to the family farm north of Franklin when Lyle's father Bartlett, moved from it. There they raised their family working on the farm, raising crops, and running a small dairy herd. Lyle also worked for many years at Cache Valley Dairy and the Lewiston and Whitney Sugar Factories. The grandchildren loved going to the farm and visiting with Grandpa and Grandma. In their later years, Lyle and U-Vonna sold the farm and moved back into Franklin, where they lived together at the time of his death.Lyle had many friends and enjoyed visiting with them and helping and serving them all. He served in many callings in the LDS church and was a great example to everyone. His family and his many friends are going to miss him and his visits, but many wonderful memories remain.He is survived by his wife, U-Vonna Winward Nash, of Franklin, children Suzan (Terry) Maio, South Jordan, UT; Beverly (Kelly) McDonald, Provo, UT; Larry Bartlett (Linda) Nash, of Provo, UT; David Lyle (Christine) Nash, Riverton, UT; and 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Oveda N. Alder, Roosevelt, UT; and Shannon (Cleo) Geddes, Idaho Falls, ID. He was preceded in death by a sister Gwen Gibson, and a grandson Matthew Kelly McDonald.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2008 in the Franklin Stake Center, 106 East Main in Franklin, Idaho. Friends may call Sunday, May 11, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida in Preston, and Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center in Franklin.
