Louise Downard Cummings

After several months of wondering “why me?”, I came to the conclusion that my blessings cup was about to meet maximum capacity.  On August 30, 2023, my cup was running over.

My parents, Louis and Gladys Ball Downard started my blessings on May 19, 1960.  I was given the best parents a girl could ask for.

Born and raised in Coalville, Utah, I had a wonderful childhood with my brothers, sisters, cousins and lifelong friends.  With all these people, my blessing cup continued to fill.  I married Dave Schmidt, and my blessings really began to grow with the birth of Angie, Audrie and Rayne.  More blessings came when I met and married my husband, Mark, and gained another son, Chad.  And then, the grandkids, my cup was about to burst!  Wyatt and Austin Welch, Kaden Cummings, Raygun, Ryder and River Hansen.  You all have given me more happiness than I could ever put into words.

My former bosses, Steve Lundberg, Cindy Lundberg, Gary & Pam Anderson and Gene Platter gave me the blessing of working with some really fantastic people.  Along with visiting many of our states and traveling abroad with my partner in crime, Traca Wardell, my cup continued to expand. I’d like to thank Loren, Dakota and Cole for giving my husband time for us to spend together in the last precious phase of my life.

I’m leaving behind but not saying goodbye to my husband, Mark.  We have had so many good times together.  Remember to make good choices baby!  My kids that I love to pieces:  Angie (Matt) Welch; Audrie (Chad) Hansen; Rayne (Ashley) Schmidt; and Chad Cummings.  My grandkids:  Wyatt & Austin Welch, Kaden Cummings, Raygun & River Hansen, truly cannot explain my love for them.  The best big brother ever, Marvin Downard.  Three little sisters that have been so good to me, Becky Lee Downard, Becky (Steve) Harvey and Janet (Michael) Morlan.  Brother-in-law, John (Maria) Cummings and sister-in-law, Sherry Cummings.  Many nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces and some dang fun cousins, and my aunt, Collen Schultz.

By now you have to understand why I say my blessings have met their capacity.  Now, I’m off to start a new cup beginning with sweeping my grandson, Ryder Hansen, up into my arms and hugging my mom and dad.  Getting a really tight hug from little brother, LeeLand, we have some catching up to do.  My nephew, Christopher Downard.

Those that remain here, I’ll be watching you!  I need you to feed the beautiful wildlife and keep cheering for my favorite Utah Jazz!!  Until we meet again- I LOVE YOU ALL!

Our family would like to send love and much gratitude to the team of nurses that took amazing care of our mama.  Shannon, MaRee and Belle, your support and love for our family was evident, we are forever thankful.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortuary.com
