Lorraine Auger Wright

Lorraine Auger Wright, 88, passed away unexpectedly from injuries sustained from a fall on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. Lorraine was born in Preston, Idaho on August 7, 1936, to Howard Jensen Auger and Ethel Luinna Owen Auger as the second of seven children. Her family resided in Preston and she spent her youth summers at her grandparents’ home in Glendale, Idaho. She attended school in Preston, graduating from Preston High School with the Class of 1954. She attended Henager Business College for one year. Lorraine married her high school sweetheart, Ramon Gerald Wright, in the Logan Utah LDS Temple on July 12, 1957. They were blessed with three sons.

Lorraine worked at First Security Bank in Preston, followed by the family chicken farm. In 1969, the Wrights and Woodwards merged their farms to create Ritewood Eggs Inc. She was the first and only Secretary/Treasurer for 55 years, retiring last year at the early age of 87. The Farm Bureau awarded her the 2006 Farm Wife Award for Franklin County and Woman of the Year for Idaho in 2007. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she enjoyed participating in the ward choir and serving in many callings, including Primary, Ward Young Women’s, Girls Camp Leader, Stake Relief Society Secretary and Stake Young Women’s President.

Lorraine will be remembered for being active and charitable in the community. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, and playing cards with “The Gang”. She also enjoyed traveling with her family and the gang on annual vacations in Montana, which later became annual trips to Hawaii.

She is survived by her sons Randon (Sheila) Wright of Kaysville, Utah; Roger (Kim) Wright of Franklin, Idaho; daughter-in-law Cynthia Wright of Logan, Utah; 17 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Owen Auger, Alan Auger, Mary Bair, James (Jim) Auger, and Joan Auger.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ramon Wright, her parents Howard and Ethel Auger, her sister Luinna Auger Jensen, her son Russell Wright, and a great-granddaughter Josie Wright.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Franklin Stake Center (106 E Main St, Franklin, ID). Friends may visit with family at viewings on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Webb Funeral Home (1005 S 800 E, Preston, ID) and Saturday at the Stake Center from 10:00-11:30 AM.
