FRANKLIN - Llewellyn Fredrick Kuester, 94, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at the Franklin County Transitional Care Center in Preston, Idaho. He was born Feb. 19, 1915, in Clintonville, Wisconsin, the son of Fred and Beatrice Maynard Kuester. He served in the Navy during World War II and retired from the military after 36 years of service.

He married Enriqueta Torres on May 12, 1940, in San Diego, California. She passed away in August of 1977. He married Lois Arnold on Dec. 10, 1977. She also preceded him in death. On June 4, 2003, he married Elva McBride Hatch in the Logan Utah Temple.

He was a sheet metal fabricator for the Naval Air Station in San Diego. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed his last trip to the Black Hills with Elva.

He is survived by his wife, Elva, of Franklin; three sons and one daughter, Robert (LeiLani) Kuester of Hemet, California; Johann (Sara) Kuester of Brigham City, Utah; Debbie K. (Jim) Grivas of Grants Pass, Oregon; Franz (Sandra) Kuester of Osh Kosh, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Fred Kuester, his parents, and identical twin brother, Leonard, a brother Bob, and two sisters, Mary Ellen and Doris.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 2, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Franklin Stake Center with Bishop Lynn Womack conducting. Friends may call Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the stake center. Military rites and interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
