Leo C. Geddes passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in Smithfield, Utah.
He was born July 19, 1938, in Banida, Idaho, on the family farm, alongside his twin brother, Cleo Geddes. He grew up in Banida,with three brothers and one sister. He graduated from Preston High School and attended Utah State University. He married DeAnn Dunkley in the Logan LDS Temple, July 3, 1958.
Leo spent a short time working for the forest service in Island Park. He worked for Motor Merc parts store for several years, which he eventually purchased and renamed Geddes Auto Parts. He worked there, side-by-side with his wife, until they sold the store and retired. He loved working with the public and made many friends throughout the years.
He served in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in various callings including, Ward Clerk, Bishopric Counsellor, and Bishop. During his time as Bishop, he presided over at least 30 funerals.
He had a passion for collecting antiques, restoring old cars and antique wood furniture pieces. He and his wife spent many years disassembling and reassembling old log settler’s cabins and filling them with antiques. He was an avid fisherman, loved to work with wood in his shop, kept an immaculate yard, and loved all animals, especially dogs.
He is survived by his children: Todd (Betsy) Geddes, Herriman, UT; Geniel Lyons, Preston, ID; Michelle (Rick) Seamons, Tremonton, UT; Karren (Allen) Edwards, Malad, ID; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of the Golden and Virgil Geddes family, preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Robert, Dale, Lois (Webster), and Cleo.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in the Preston South Stake Center, Preston, Idaho. Viewings will be held Friday, from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Saturday from 9-10 a.m. at the church house prior to the service. Interment will be at the Preston City Cemetery.
