Ladawn Coburn Traynor, 91, passed away November 21, 2025, in Preston, Idaho. She was born August 16, 1934, in Preston, Idaho, to Glen and Amy Hansen Coburn. She graduated from Preston High School and then went to live and work in Salt Lake City with friends from high school.She moved to San Diego, California to work, where she met and married John Charles Traynor in 1957. John was in the navy. A son, Terry Wayne Traynor, was born in 1958.
The navy moved her family from San Diego to Long Beach, then to Imperial Beach, then to Point Loma, then to Bremerton, Washington, then back to Ocean Beach, California, and finally to National City. After 10 years of navy life, John worked as a computer engineer on government contracts, then for Electronic Data Systems as a systems consultant, then into banking. That led them to move many more times. The family moved 42 times, all over the United States.
In Newport Rhode Island, Ladawn attended art school for the first time. She then took art classes in all the new locations they moved to, participating in many art shows and festivals. In Rhode Island, She got a real estate license and sold real estate for a time. While living in Plano, Texas, she sold Mary Kay cosmetics & was a beauty consultant.
In 1993, John & Ladawn moved back to Preston where they bought and remodeled the Coburn family home. Ladawn loved the arts & crafts. She enjoyed painting in acrylic, sewing, crocheting, and collecting antiques. Her paintings & crocheted afghans are in all her family & friends’ homes.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 E., Preston, Idaho. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortuary.com
