Kelley Dean Blauer passed away peacefully in Logan, Utah, on December 27, 2022. He was born April 5, 1958 to Wallace Dean and Patricia Hawkes Blauer. He was the middle child of nine kids. He was so proud to share his dad’s middle name, which Wally sneaked in during his baby blessing.
Kelley Dean grew up in River Heights, Utah, surrounded by great friends and family. He worked on farms in Benson, Utah while he was young, so he could buy cool cars. His favorite car was a 1965 white Ford Mustang. Kelley worked at Rocky Mountain Irrigation with a bunch of his friends for several years. On drives he would proudly say, “I put that wheel-line in.” He worked at ATK for 25 years fabricating rocket motors. He most recently worked at Paragon Medical as a machinist.
Kelley loved the mountains and loved hunting and fishing trips with his buddies. They spent a lot of their time at Baxter’s Sawmill and Island Park. Summers were spent camping and with family at Lava Ranch. They are times we will always cherish. Kelley would fish everywhere he could.
He married Stacy Spencer on September 4, 1987 becoming “Mr. B.” They spent time with friends playing games and watching the Jazz. Kelley was the best “girl dad.” Kylie was his first favorite daughter. Then five years later, on Kylie’s birthday, Spenser was born; his youngest favorite. He had a hard time saying “no” to them. He was always buying them treats and tools and cleaning their rooms or cars. Spenser was his little buddy and would take her along on his fishing trips teaching her to tie knots, cast, and clean fish. Kylie connected with Kelley to make his last wishes and feelings known, so he could pass peacefully. He adored his grandchildren and would drop by to visit with a treat in his hand. He had a special bond with his first grandson, Boston.
Kelley Dean was a quiet guy with a big heart. He was always there for his family and will continue to do so. We are happy to know he is now resting peacefully without the pain he endured for so long.
He is survived by his wife Stacy; Daughters Kylie (Ryan) Stringham and Spenser (Caleb) Hull; Grandchildren Boston Meacham, Brock, Jaxon, and Jagger Stringham and Hensley and Nayvee Hull; Siblings Kim, Kathrine (Rich) White, Nena (Dwight) Peterson, Jill (Robert) Warnick, Kris (Julie), David, and Marc Blauer and his many nieces and nephews. He was close with his in-laws, John and Suzanne Spencer and Marty and Greg Jones. His dog, Ollie, was always by his side.
Kelley is preceded in death by his parents, Wally and Patricia Hawkes Blauer, his brother, Bart, grandparents, and grandpa, Clyde Hendricks.
