It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Jamey, who departed this life on August 8, 2025, at the age of 51.
Born on April 14, 1974, to James Harmon Drysdale and Becky Blackhurst Murray, Jamey grew up in Clearfield, the oldest of four boys in the family. He graduated from Clearfield High School in 1992. Following high school, Jamey attended Utah State University where he expanded his love of golf by graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture. Jamey made many friends playing golf around the valley, especially at the country club. Besides golf, Jamey had an intense love of music, mostly classic rock and The Grateful Dead. He spent many road trips with his friends and brother, Tyson heading out to spend time with the deadhead community.
In 2002, Jamey met his soulmate, Nancy. Apparently, they didn’t realize they were soulmates just yet, because after a few missed tries and unfulfilled plans, Nancy had decided that maybe Jamey wasn’t the one for her. Then he brought her a scarf from Venice, Italy and she was hooked. Once they finally got together for a date, they were inseparable. They were married on June 18, 2004. Together they have three beautiful children, Kali, Alivia, and Ayden. After their first home in Logan, they then moved to two different homes in Smithfield until recently making a home in Richmond.
Jamey went on to co-own and operate a structural steel fabrication company, D&D Welding, with his late brother, Casey, building a legacy of hard work and craftmanship. This is also where he met and formed several lasting friendships.
Jamey is preceded in death by a child, Baby Drysdale; his father, James Drysdale; brothers, Casey and Kiley Drysdale; angel sister Elizabeth, and many grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, and kids, Kali, Alivia, and Ayden. He is also survived by his mom and dad, Becky B. and Mark Murray; his siblings, Tyson Drysdale(Rory); little sister, Ali; April Murray, Daniel Murray (Amy), and Hilary Murray(Nick), as well as several extended family members.
Jamey had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh, drawing many family and friends to him. When Jamey loved you, he loved you unconditionally. He was a devoted husband and father, and a true friend to many.
Though Jamey is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
