Irma Ann Veibell Hobbs
Irma completed her earthly journey on Monday, October 5, 2026 surrounded by those who loved her. She was born October 9, 1941 in Logan Utah to Lillie Johanna Nelson and Jens Rasmussen Veibell and was the youngest of four children.
She lived in Beaver Dam, Utah until she was 14 then moved to Logan Utah. She graduated from Logan High in 1959. She then attended Stevens-Henager College in Ogden, Utah and graduated in a stenography course.
She met Bob A. Hobbs at AL JO’s in Preston, Idaho on February 13, 1965 and they were married on May 21, 1965. They lived in Franklin Idaho where Bob ran the family farm. They were blessed with four children. They lived a busy life where they worked hard and played harder.
Irma was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was dedicated to her faith and served in many callings throughout her life. Relief Society President, Home Making Leader, Compassionate Service Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Cub Scout Leader, Young Women’s Leader, Primary Teacher, Stake Primary President, and she and Bob were Ward Missionaries.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She made sure everyone felt welcome and was well fed. She and Bob invited many young people to live in their home. It made life changing differences for them.
She was an extremely hard worker. She worked at many drive in’s and then Low Cost Drug. She worked tirelessly on the farm and mink ranch while being a full time mother. When her children were in high school, she started working at Ritewood Eggs in Franklin, Idaho. She retired from there at 78 years old. While there she met and impacted so many people’s lives with her kindness.
She was an amazing cook. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts. She loved gardening and could get anything to grow. She enjoyed family history. She loved passing these things on to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Irma’s greatest legacy is her family. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and found great joy in watching their lives unfold. She made sure every one of them knew they were special and loved. Irma will be remembered for her devotion to the gospel of Jesus Christ, her endless service and kindness to all.
She is survived by her husband, Bob, children, Shelley Olson, Robert (Kim), Kevin (Trissa) and Ken (Sharon) all of Franklin, ID. Sixteen grandchildren and twenty six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lillie and Jens Veibell, her siblings; Vera Christina Zilles, James Alton Veibell, Wendell Nelson Veibell, and her son-in-law Larry Olson.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Franklin County Medical Center for their compassionate care they provided to Irma and our family during our time of need. We are beyond grateful for the outpouring of love and support we have received.
