Preston, Idaho Grant E. JonesPreston - Grant Edmund Jones, 88, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2008, at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. He was born on June 19, 1919 in Lewiston, Utah the son of Abraham Lee and Harriet Ann Hill Jones. He married Ella Josephine Jepsen on September 27, 1940 in the Logan Utah Temple. They had 67 wonderful years together.Grant enjoyed the outdoors and was a "tough ol' cowboy." He loved hunting, fishing and especially horses. He bought and sold many horses and cattle and enjoyed attending the auctions. He ran the Texaco station in Preston for many years and worked for Thomas Farms for 22 years. He also owned and operated his own farm.He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he was a high priest in the Preston 3rd Ward. He loved his family very much and enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren.He is survived by his wife Ella, of Preston; a daughter Eileen J. (Lyle) Winward, of Preston; a son Steven Grant (Julie) Jones, of Preston; 13 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, and two sisters.Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 12 noon in the Preston 3rd Ward Chapel 155 North 2nd West, in Preston, with Bishop Leonard Ward conducting. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida, in Preston, and Monday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
