Glenn K. Baker

On July 1, 2025 Glenn K. Baker, 71 passed away peacefully in his home after a courageous battle against cancer.

K was born in Preston Idaho on November 11th,1953 to Glenn W. Baker and VaLois Kendall Baker. Glenn and VaLois settled in Downey Idaho in 1958, prior to this K lived in Clifton Idaho and Ogden Utah. K was the second of 7 children and the oldest brother. As a teen he worked for Dr. Leo Burkett and other local farmers in Downey. This is where he developed a love for work and being outside. He graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1972 where he ran track and sang in the school choir.

He met Debra S. Allen at the Downey Fair; they later married in 1978. They were married for 47 years and had three daughters together: Afton, Serina, and Alayna. During his life K worked on the railroad for Union Pacific, as a truck driver for Miller Brothers in Hyrum Utah where he drove over 2 million safe miles, and most importantly as a farmer on the Baker family farm in Oxford Idaho. He loved this farm, the people of Oxford and the many friends he met in the farming community over the years. He often spent his time helping others but not without a prank or two to make things a little more fun. K always loved things that went *BOOM*. K spent many mornings driving around the loop, enjoying his coffee and looking for wildlife such as deer, moose, elk, killdeer, rock chucks, eagles, owls and rattlesnakes.

He is survived by his wife Debra S. Baker; his children Afton S. Baker, Katie Serina Baker and Alayna K. Baker; his siblings Alice Baker, Michael J. (Tammy) Baker, Lynne Baker (Paul), Jeffrey D. Baker, Bryan V. Baker and John W. (Ashley) Baker; and his beloved dog Jack. He is also grateful for his nieces and nephews; Bradley Baker, Grayson (Leah) Lucero, Rick Worley, Nicholas Baker, Jaron Baker, Sandra Sherman, Amber Patel, Talon Baker, and Piper Baker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn W. Baker and VaLois Kendall Baker Barrington; Ross Taylor Barrington, Amanda Lynn Baker, and his forever best buddy, Little Man.

Special thank you to Dr. Kurt Olaveson, the Logan Cancer Center and IHC Homecare and Hospice. Thank you to the many friends and neighbors who visited and supported us when needed.
