Gean Owen Frandsen, 62, beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away suddenly on October 30, 2025, in Preston, Idaho.
He was born to Dick Jackson Frandsen and Gayle Busenbark Frandsen on March 12, 1963, at home in Sandy, Utah where he lived his entire childhood. He graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1981, and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Raleigh, North Carolina, from 1982-1983. When he returned from his mission, he met the love of his life and eternal companion, Lori Rosier. They married on April 5, 1984, in the Jordan River Temple. They are extremely thankful for the 41 years they were able to be together on this earth and look forward to the time when they can be reunited. Gean was talented and skillful with his hands. These skills would bless him and his family throughout his life. He was a jack of all trades. He drove truck, farmed, construction, mechanical work and excelled in heating and cooling. He passed these skills on to his children. He had a strong testimony of his Savior and of the Gospel and shared it with others. He was an amazing teacher. Gean loved serving those around him and making them laugh. He had a great sense of humor. His family was his pride and joy. He opened his home to many and it was important to him to have others feel welcome there.
He is survived by his wife, Lori; his children, Justin (Sarah) Frandsen, Brian (Sheila) Frandsen, Kelly (Jessie) Frandsen, Rebecca (Mikel) Beardall, Carissa (David) Brasher, and Jessica Frandsen; 15 grandchildren; his father, Dick Frandsen; brother Jay Frandsen, sister Tammy (Harvey) Lehmitz; sister Jeannine Buchmiller; brother Alen (Natalie) Frandsen, and many other extended family members and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; his in-laws, William and Diane Rosier; sister-in-law Olea Frandsen; brother-in-law Jim Buchmiller; and grandson, Mathew Scott Beardall.
