Gary Walker

Some men leave behind memories,

Some leave behind a legacy.

With a shattered heart by his passing, I announce that my husband, Gary Walker, suddenly left this realm on Sept. 11th 2026 at the age of 36.

He was more than a husband. He was my love, my best friend, my partner in the battle of life, and the part of my heart that will never be replaced by another.

He walked his path through this life with strength and courage. He faced its battles, celebrated victories, endured the storms, and loved, cared and provided for his family along the way.

He was a man who loved me fiercely and unconditionally. He was more than a father, he was part of a foundation of their lives. He loved his children and tried being a leader to guide them through life. He stood beside those he called his family and left a mark on the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to have gotten to know him.

Gary loved the outdoors. He loved taking me and the kids camping in the mountains, fishing and hunting local waters and trails, sharing those hobbies with those closest to him. Recently buying hounds and being taught to cat and bear hunt by his father in law, Justin. He enjoyed his drives on just about any road and tinkering mechanically. Servicing personal vehicles, adding this and that to his trucks and for a number of years enjoyed building and driving demolition derby cars. He could fix just about anything and what he couldn’t, he gave it one hell of a go. He helped others often, whether it was for family, a neighbor, a friend or a stranger. He took a ton of pride in his work and providing for his family, doing everything he could to build a better life and to give his family what he believed they deserved, which was the world. He had a deep love just spending time with his family and seeing them succeed. He told stories about his life and adventures along the way. During his short time in this world, he made great memories with his loved ones, friends and co-workers.

He leaves behind a wife, Jerica Sharp-Walker and his children, Kovelin Gene, Gary Lamar, Starleigh InaJo, Kezrial Kay, Kamdin Jewel, Remington, and Charlie, who will carry his memory, his lessons, his laughter, and his love with them always. He is survived by his mother Peggy Walker, His father and mother in-law, Justin and Kenna Sharp. His siblings, Bobbi and BJ Peterson, Stefani and Chris Hess, Kalleo Walker Sortor, Jaemi and Tyler Marshall, Traci and Jeremy Shields. As well as other family and friends whose lives were made brighter simply because he was part of them. He is preceded in death by his father, Gary Lamar Walker, his uncle Robert (Robby) Anthony Udell and uncle Cory Shurtz.

Though our hearts break at his departure, we take comfort in believing that this is not the end of his journey. May the Ravens of Odin the All Father bear witness to the life he lived and imagine the Valkyries came for him, their shields shining beneath the northern sky guiding him toward the halls of Valhalla and Folkvangr. There, The Gods welcoming him home. Where he’ll find the ancestors and warriors who came before him, raising horns, feasting, and storytelling.

But here, his greatest legacy remains. His Family.

His children will carry his name and remember his voice, laugh, strength and the love he gave them.

His wife will carry the memories of the life they shared and the love death itself can’t erase.

His family will gather, tell his stories and keep his name alive.

For a man does not truly die while his name is spoken.

So we speak his name. We remember his life. We honor his journey. Because of us, a part of him will always remain in this world.

Go now Gary.

The Gods await you.

The Valkyries have come.

Valhalla and Folkvangr opens its doors.

Someday when our own journey ends, may we find each other again beneath the same northern sky.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 12:00 noon at Webb Funeral Home in Preston, Idaho. A viewing will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. also at the funeral home. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortuary.com
