Gailya Elaine Aslett Munson, 93, passed away December 23, 2025, at her home in Riverdale, Idaho. She was born June 15, 1932, in Downey, Idaho, the daughter of George William Aslett and Lavon Lowry. She married Lewis Austin Munson on April 26, 1956, in the St. George Utah Temple. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2022.
Gailya and Lewis served six missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They served in Russia, New Mexico, three Salt Lake City Headquarters Genealogical missions, and one Temple & Family History Mission.
She loved camping, reading, cross-stitch and spending time with her children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her sense of humor never left her and delighted everyone she spoke to- if she wanted to speak to them that is! She is deeply loved and will always be cherished and remembered fondly.
She is survived by two daughters and three sons: Toni Jo Kelley of Longview, Texas; Michael (Diane) Munson of Preston, Idaho; James (Rebecca) Munson of Santaquin, Utah; Scott (Patricia) Munson of Weiser, Idaho; Melanie Huebner of Riverdale, Idaho; by 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and by a sister, Julie Kidman of Brigham City, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband; by a son-in-law, Dave Kelley; and by a sister, Louise Sluder.
Graveside Dedication will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at noon in the Riverdale Hillcrest Cemetery, 1358 East 3200 North, Preston, Idaho. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortuary.com
