Esther Ann Cooper Durrant

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 23, 2024, Esther Ann Cooper Durrant peacefully left this mortal existence to begin her eternal journey. She was surrounded by her loving and devoted husband and their 5 children. We were there for her as she has always been for us. Though our hearts are heavy, we find great solace in the fact that she is now surrounded by her many family members who have gone before, specifically her parents and her beloved younger sister Carla. She was an example of resilience, strength, endurance, and determination, even to her last breath.

She was a loving wife to her husband, Val Dean Durrant, a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a cherished member of her community, and a loyal friend to many!

Esther Ann’s life was like a patchwork quilt, each thread stitched with love, family, community, and service. She was constantly thinking of and worrying about others and what she could do to bless the life of another. To have known her was to have known love.

She is survived by her loving, caring, dedicated, and devoted companion and sweetheart, Val Dean Durrant and her beloved 5 children and their spouses, 15 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way, whom we have no doubts she is already snuggling.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Lucy Cooper, and her beloved younger sister, Carla Clark.

The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to the staff at FCMC hospital, clinic, and Homecare & Hospice for the tender, loving care they have provided for both Mom and Dad. A special thanks to Chantee Wyatt, Dr. Knapp, Dr. Jeffers, Allie Greer, Bailey Meek, Amanda, Muriel Garvis, and Megan Empey. We couldn’t have done it without them and they have become family to us.

The children and grandchildren would like to humbly thank their father and grandfather for his active role in providing the most beautiful care for our beloved mother and grandmother. Many, many sacrifices were made, but he wouldn’t have it any other way. He would do it all over again and again. Thank you Daddy for showing us the true essence of love.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Franklin Idaho Stake Center, 106 E. Main, Franklin, Idaho. The family has requested a private Family only viewing and graveside services. We ask that you honor this request. No formal luncheon will be held. We know that Mom has touched many lives and there are many of you who would like to pay their respects to Dad so we invite you to share our condolences or memories with the family at webbmortuary.com or on Facebook.

In lieu of flowers….be like Esther….be of service. Visit with friends and family, take someone to lunch, make a simple phone call, send a card, give a hug, and simply pay it forward.
