Preston, IdahoDorius L. AndersenPreston - Dorius Larson Andersen passed away Sept. 15, 2008 in Brigham City, Utah. She was born Dec 1, 1923 at Preston Idaho, daughter of J. Lavon Larson and Mae Bishop Larson. She graduated from Preston High School. She married Fred Lavoy Andersen April 10, 1940 in the Logan LDS Temple after which they moved to California. Over the next few years they lived in Oakland, California, Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and Preston, Idaho. Fred and Dorius purchased an Arctic Circle in Preston and ran it for 35 years before they retired. The last few years of her life she and Fred resided in St. George, Utah. Dorius was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While in Coeur d' Alene she helped organize the first Primary there. She loved teaching children and taught many classes in Primary and Sunday School over the years. She also spent many hours extracting names in which she and Fred and the extraction group they were in charge of extracting some quarter million names in Preston and a similar amount while they were in St. George. Many nights as she could not sleep she would get up and work on checking names for accuracy. Surviving is a daughter Judy Coburn of Brigham City, Utah, son Bruce Andersen of Logan, daughter Nadene Murphy of Preston, Idaho and Lanette Gibson of San Antonio, Texas, 33 grandchildren, 69 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.Preceding her in death is her husband, Fred Lavoy Andersen, a brother Theo, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 12:00 noon in the Preston North Stake Center, 310 North State Street. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida, in Preston and Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Glendale Cemetery.
