Donna Maxine Krajnc Russom passed away on August 20th, 2026 at her home in Franklin, Idaho. She was surrounded by the love and comfort of family. Donna was born on May 15th,1939 in Standardville, Utah to Frank & Sylvia Krajnc. She grew up in the cities of Latuda, Rains, and Helper, Utah with her 5 sisters and brother. Raised with a wild, mountain-loving spirit, Donna could be found hooky bobbing in the old coal mining camp, riding work horses, and lacing up in her dad’s ice skates. These early and memorable experiences shaped the rest of Donna's life.
She graduated from Carbon High School in 1957, and went on to marry George W Russom Sr. in Salt Lake City, Utah. From this union came 3 children: George, Connie, and Patricia. As an adult, Donna was a powerhouse-a driven, hardworking woman (often putting men to shame) whose grit was formed early in life. Donna remained deeply connected to the land, dedicating her days to the demanding work of mink ranching and garden cultivation. She also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.
Later in life, she volunteered at the LDS church as a librarian, making many friends along the way. Donna faithfully attended her high school reunions into her 80's and cherished the opportunity to connect and reminisce with old friends. Above all, she loved her family. Donna's home was a place of endless fun for her grandchildren, who spent holidays and breaks running amok in the yard and around the neighborhood, playing board games like Yahtzee (which Donna often won), and watching game shows with their grandmother.
Donna carried her love for 50's music, quick wit and sense of humor, along with a fierce stubbornness, to her final days. She was even seen shimmying and boogeying to the radio a mere week before her passing. Donna will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son, George W Russom Jr (Marie), daughter, Patricia Alder, sister, Betty Madrigal (Jim), sister Sonja Alexander(Cliff), 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 9.5 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donna is predeceased by her husband, George W Russom Sr, parents Frank and Sylvia Krajnc, sisters Julia Malicoat, Jerry Birch and Frankie Hepburn, brother Robert Krajnc, and daughter, Connie Chidester.
The family would like to give sincere thanks to Laurie Nate, Melanie, Jeneil, and Cara for their care and compassion.
Pallbearers: George W Russom Jr (son), George W Russom III (grandson), Greg George Russom (grandson), Jeramie Chidester (grandson), Jeff Chidester (grandson),and Alec Pankowski (great grandson)
