Donald Lee Liebes

On August 26, 2022 Donald Lee Liebes passed away quietly in his home with his wife  and youngest son.  He was born Aug. 30, 1940 in French Camp, San Joaquin, CA. the son of Donald Chester Liebes and Betty Sonberg Liebes.  He was the oldest of 3 children.

After graduating from Tracy High School, Don pursued his love of service as a police officer in Tracy, CA and chief of police in North Logan, UT as well as Preston, ID.  In his life he enjoyed fishing, hunting, backpacking, the outdoors, and building custom rods.  He was a member of the Cache Valley Cruise In and director for the Cruise In for 10 years.  Most people could find Don driving his ’41 hot lime green Ford Coupe all over Utah, Idaho, and the country.

He married Dianne Lynne Keeler on March 17, 1964 in the Los Angeles LDS temple where they were sealed for time and eternity. 

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Liebes of 58 years, Richmond, UT. and six children; Laurel Larsen (Stacy) Pocatello, ID, Donald Liebes II, Banida, ID, Wendy Liebes Richmond, UT, Jared Liebes, Salt Lake City, UT, Crystal Elmer (Allen), Roy, UT, Chad Liebes (Jacquie), Richmond, UT; 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; by a sister, Sharon Hoth (Ladell), North Logan, UT, and by a brother, Larry Liebes (Patty), Richmond, UT.  He was preceded in death by his parents Donald & Betty Liebes.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Richmond Stake Center, 135 W. Main, Richmond, Utah.  The services will be streamed live and may be watched Thursday at 11 am (MST) by clicking on the following link:

Viewings will be held Wednesday from 6-8 pm and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. both at the stake center.  Interment will be in the Hyde Park Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortuary.com
