Dennis Joseph Moser

Whitney, Idaho - - - Dennis J. Moser

Whitney - On May 22, 2009, or precious dad, grandpa, best friend, and husband passed away at his home surrounded by his family, after a valiant fight with cancer. Dennis was born November 13, 1934 in Preston Idaho to Lulu Clayton and Joseph L. Moser. Dennis married the love of his life Della Foster, in the Logan Temple on December 7, 1956 after serving an LDS mission in the East Central States. Dennis proudly served his country in the Army. He was stationed in Europe for two years where he and Della had many memorable moments. They had the opportunity to witness the dedication of the London Temple. Dennis was employed at the Franklin County Grain Growers for over 40 years. He knew every farmer by name and had great respect for each.

Dennis and Della raised their four children on a small farm in Whitney where he loved to work with the soil. He knew where every gopher hole was and saw to it that there was never a weed on the land. Countless hours were spent on his four-wheeler with grandchildren, taking care of the farm, and visiting with all of the neighbors along the way. Dennis knew where every water pipe-line connected and if it had the right amount of water running through it.

Dennis was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many church callings including ward financial clerk, Elders Quorum President, Sunday school teacher, and Sunday school president. His favorite calling was Usher of the Whitney Ward. He loved the members of the ward and was sure each had a place to sit. He looked forward to seeing each and every one.

He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved the gospel and lived what he taught. He believed setting an example was more effective than words could ever be - Well done thou good and faithful servant.

Surviving Dennis are his wife of 53 years, Della of Whitney, and four children Debora (Tom) Tompkins, of North Logan, UT; David D. (Tami) Moser, of Whitney; Diane Moser, of Scottsdale, AZ; and Dionne Pickett, of Idaho Falls, ID; 14 grandchildren, Jason Davis, Jeremy Davis, Justin Davis, Natasha Stocks, Lynden Moser, Dirk Moser, Amanda Tompkins, Tyler Moser, Cody Pickett, Cayden Pickett, Carson Pickett, Connor Pickett, Cameron Pickett, and Courtney Pickett, and six great grandchildren: april Davis, Madison Davis, Hope Davis, Kai Davis, Jonathan "Buddy" Davis, and Boone Davis. He is also survived by his brothers Gale (Lynn) Moser, Kent (Kathy) Moser, Monte (Kay) Moser, and a sister Marlene (Larry) Kingsford. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Joan (Mardell) Nielson, and his dear in-laws Cecil and Aimer Foster.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Whitney 1st Ward Chapel with Bishop Jeff Leonard conducting.
