Delbert George Alder

Delbert George Alder passed away peacefully at his home on June 22, 2026, at the age of 89 after complications of a stroke.

Delbert was born in Preston, Idaho on December 28, 1936, to George Edwin and Florence Viola Webb Alder. He was raised on a farm until he went on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in the British and North British Missions. Following his mission, he returned to Preston where he attended school at Utah State University, earning a bachelor's degree in elementary education.

While on his mission, he met Shirley Ann Woods and they were later married in the Logan Temple on January 26, 1968.

Delbert and Shirley have two sons, Del (Julie) Alder and Jeff (Jennifer) Alder, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

In 1977, Delbert, Shirley, and family moved to Blackfoot, Idaho where Delbert taught 3rd grade at Rockford Elementary for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Viola Webb Alder, two brothers, Bruce and Mack Alder, and sister Alene Porter.

Pursuant to Delbert's wishes, there will be no funeral. There will be a viewing at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S 800 E, Preston, Idaho on Thursday, June 25,2026 from 10:30 to 11:30 and graveside services immediately following at the Preston Cemetery.
