Dean Hubbard

In Loving Memory of Dean Hubbard Dean Hubbard, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, peacefully passed away on April 16th, 2024 at the age of 90. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew him. Dean was born on May 26th, 1933 to Dwight and Ester Hubbard, in Grand Rapids Michigan.

Throughout his life, he exemplified qualities of kindness, generosity, and strength, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Dean was the devoted husband of Wanda Yvonne Hubbard for an incredible 72 years. Theirs was a love story that inspired all who witnessed it—a bond forged through the trials and triumphs of life, growing stronger with each passing year. Dean was a loving father to his son Michael Hubbard and daughter Julie Germano. He was a source of wisdom, guidance, and unwavering support for his children, instilling in them values of integrity, compassion, and resilience. Although deeply saddened by the loss of their oldest daughter, Laura, 38 years ago, Dean and his family found solace in the hope of being reunited with her one day. His enduring love for Laura and the memories they shared will forever hold a special place in their hearts. Dean's legacy of love will live on through his cherished family: his wife, children, grandchildren, and all who knew him. His kind spirit, warm smile, and loving presence will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Dean expressed a desire for there to be no funeral or formal service held in his memory. We invite you to share stories and memories through email or letters as a way to find solace in the cherished moments we shared with him. We bid farewell to Dean, may we find comfort in the knowledge that he is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before him. Though he may be gone from our sight, his love will continue to guide and inspire us always. Rest in peace, Dean, knowing that you were deeply loved and will be forever remembered with fondness and gratitude.

“But, if the dead can come back to this earth, and flit unseen around those they loved, I shall always be near you in the garish day, and the darkest night amidst your happiest scenes and gloomiest hours always, always, and, if the soft breeze fans your cheek, it shall be my breath; or the cool air cools your throbbing temples, it shall be my spirit passing by. Do not mourn me; think I am gone, and wait for me, for we shall meet again.” Major Sullivan Ballou July 14, 1861
