If you are reading this I died. I was born on November 9, 1935, in Franklin, Idaho, in my grandfather’s house. I almost didn’t make it to Grandpa’s because our car slid off the road into a ditch and we had to get horses to pull the car out of the ditch. I was the son of Francis Duane and Anona Wright Day. My Brother Wayne and I worked the Day Family farm for years with my dad and later purchased the farm where we grew grain and hay and milked cows for a while.
I graduated from North Cache High school in 1954 and then joined the army in 1955 where I spent 18 months in Korea. I was honored to serve my country. After I returned home from Korea, I got a job at North State driving a gas tanker. In 1959 I married the love of my life Kay Olsen who I was married to for 64 years. She unfortunately passed way in 2023. I missed her every day.
I worked at Thiokol until retirement in 1995. I was also awarded the Silver Snoopy which is an appreciation & dedication for, Space Shuttle Space Transportation, awarded by Astronaut Rich Clifford. I enjoyed hunting and fishing with my bother Wayne and camping with my family where many memories were made.
I was preceded in death by my Wife, Dad & Mom, Father & Mother-in-law, my brother & his wife, 2 Great Granddaughter’s and many friends.
I am survived by 4 children, 2 honorary children. My Sister Ruth & Brother-in-law Mike Wood. 10 Grandchildren & 19 Great Grandchildren and many Neices and Nephews.
The family would like to thank Logan Regional Hospital ICU his Hospice Nurse Rohn Larsen for the awesome care they gave our dad.
