Craig Allen Pyfer

We regret to inform you that Craig Pyfer passed away in Idaho Falls on 30 March 2026.

Craig was born in 1954 in Butte Montana to Dan Pyfer and Florence (Carlson Dawson). He graduated from Butte High School in 1973, where he was active in DeMolay and skiing.

He served in the Navy from 1975 to 1977 stationed in Naples Italy as a store clerk. in 1979 after learning Norwegian, he served a Mission for his church in Oslo Norway. Upon returning home he attended Montana State University and graduated in 1985.

He was married in 1982 to Jane Dawson Peterson in Salt Lake City Utah. They settled in Preston Idaho where they lived the rest of their lives.

Craig was very interested in his extended family and often called people on Sunday to catch up on family news. He attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Preston until failing health prevented him from attending in person. However, he was able to participate with televised services. He loved the inspirational music.

For the last two years he has lived at The Gables Senior Home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Here he was comfortable, stress free, and well cared for. Thank you to the patient and caring staff at The Gables.

Craig leaves behind a brother, Gary and a sister, Kathy and many cousins in his large extended family. His wife, Jane, continues to live in Preston.

He is now at peace.
