Connie Johnson Wood, 68, passed away on Feb. 10, 2016 at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah.
Connie was born in Logan, Utah on July 4, 1947 to Nason and Ione Johnson. She was the second of seven children.
Connie grew up in Richmond, Utah. She attended Park elementary, Lewiston Jr. High, North Cache High, and was in the first graduating class at Sky View High School.
After graduation, she moved to Salt Lake City and went to business school and worked for J.C Penney accounting.
Connie married David P. Wood on May 13, 1966. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. They lived their married life in Amalga, Utah. Connie enjoyed taking the boys to baseball, football and basketball practices and games.
Connie has held many church positions in the Primary, Relief Society, as Ward librarian, and others.
Connie worked for many years at Cache Valley Dairy and Cal Ranch.
Connie has belonged to a club with some friends since before her children were born.
David and Connie have been on several nice trips to California, Georgia, New York, Florida, Texas, New Zealand, Tahiti, and a Caribbean cruise.
Some of her interests include reading, painting, yard work, crafts, and spending time with friends and family.
Connie is survived by her husband, David of Amalga; five sons, Troy (Holly Bullen) Wood of Smithfield, Travis (Janet Freeman) Wood of McKinney, Texas, Christopher Wood of Amalga, Erik (CharLynn Dahl) Wood of Mount Dora, Florida, and Aaron (Laura Moon) Wood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren: Carly and Braden, Matthew and Zackary, Cort and Whitney, and Bristol; and one great grandson, C.J. Wood. She is also survived by a sister, Carol (Blaine) Allen of Lewiston, Utah; and by four brothers, Tom (Chloe) Johnson of Aurora, Colorado; Jim (Jody) Johnson of Logan, Utah; David (Shelly) Johnson of Price, Utah; and Gary (Annette) Johnson of Draper, Utah. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sally Johnson Buttars and by her parents.
The family would like to thank the Transplant Team at Intermountain Medical Center and Encompass Health Care (Patty Bingam) for their loving care of Connie.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Amalga Ward Chapel, 6521 N. 2400 W., Amalga, Utah with Bishop Grant Koford conducting. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the church and Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. also at the church. Interment will be in the Trenton Utah Cemetery.
