Clinton Willard Housley

Clinton Willard Housley passed away peacefully on November 2, 2026. Clinton was born October 27, 1940, in Preston, Idaho, the third child born to Glen and Fern (Johnson) Housley. He grew up farming with his dad and brothers. Clinton graduated from North Cache High School in 1958 and later served a mission in England for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

After returning home, he served in the National Guard for 12 years while attending Utah State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1969. He then moved to Idaho Falls, where he taught for a year before returning to Utah. Clinton went on to teach shop and coach wrestling at North Cache Middle School before transferring to White Pine Middle School, where he completed his teaching career. In addition to teaching, he owned and operated Housley Construction until his retirement in 2018.

On March 15, 1968, Clinton and Margaret were married in the Salt Lake Temple. They built two homes in Richmond, where they raised their six children and made a lifetime of memories. Clinton found great joy in serving in the temple and working with his cattle and buffalo. He especially loved taking his grandchildren on his Rhino and motorcycle rides. He also enjoyed riding his mules through the hills of Wyoming, fishing in Alaska, and spending time hunting.

Clinton was loved by many. He was known for being hardworking and occasionally stern, but he was a true jokester at heart. His memory will live on through everyone who knew him.

Clinton is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Waring Housley; his children, Kim (Shad), Melanie (Joel), Jolene, Roxanne, Darren (Rozz), and Chris (Wes); his 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Robert (Cheri), Fay (Jay), and Fern (Bill). He is preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; his sister, Margie; three brothers, Milen, Ned, and a baby brother; his son-in-law, Mel; and two great-granddaughters, Rosalie and Koda Jade.

A viewing will be held in honor of Clinton on Friday, November 6, 2026, from 5:30 to 8:00 PM at the Smithfield 18th Ward Chapel, 625 E 600 S, Smithfield, Utah. Interment will be held in the Richmond Utah Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortuary.com
