Cleve Merl Esplin

Cleve Merl Esplin, 61, passed away December 20, 2016 at his home in Preston, Idaho.  He was born to Merl Esplin and Luana Porter on May 20, 1955. He grew up on their farm in Preston, Idaho with four brothers and five sisters. He graduated from Preston High School in 1974 and served as an LDS missionary in the Missouri-Independence Mission. Two days after returning home, he met Sylvia Joyce Fullmer, the love of his life. They were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS temple on September 24, 1976.

Cleve and Sylvia have four daughters, to whom he always taught the importance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, hard work and integrity. He loved his family. He was their spiritual leader, a great provider and had an extraordinary work ethic. He was always available for the many recitals, concerts, sports events and family activities. He was a wonderful grandpa. He loved to tease his grandchildren, tell them gospel stories and share his wisdom.

Cleve served many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, including Bishop, and most recently, a Secretary for the Stake President.

 Cleve was preceded in death by his father, Merl and his daughter Angelica Dawn. He is survived by his mother, Luana, Preston, Idaho; his siblings, LuAnn (Lance) Nielson, Utah; Karen Esplin, Virginia; Kim (JoDee), Utah; Wade (Kimberly), Utah; Wendy (Doug) Gibb, Washington; David (Amy), Idaho; Jenni Greene, Idaho; Alli (Don) Jensen, Idaho; Earl (Ginger), Montana; his wife Sylvia Esplin, Preston, Idaho; his daughters, Misty (Chad) Bingham of Salem, Oregon; SylviAnn (Kent) Ward of Weston, Idaho and Mary (Dustin) Ayotte of Millville, Utah and 13 grandchildren.

His family will dearly miss him, but we are happy for his joyful reunion with Angelica and other loved ones.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016 at noon in the Preston North Stake Center, 310 N. State, Preston, Idaho.  Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston and Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the stake center.  Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
